Ernie Steele (Ernest Steele) was born on November 2, 1917 in Bothell, Washington. Steele attended the University of Washington. Steele made his professional debut in the NFL in 1942 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia/Pittsburgh over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1943 was Ernie Steele's best year, as he ran in 4 TDs.
