Ernie Pannell (Ernest W. Pannell) was born on February 2, 1917 in Austin, Texas. After going to high school at Waco (TX), Pannell attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. Pannell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1941 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1941 was Ernie Pannell's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
