Ernie Nevers (Ernest Alonzo Nevers) was born on June 11, 1903 in Willow River, Minnesota. After going to high school at Central (Superior, WI) and Santa Rosa (CA), Nevers attended Stanford University. Nevers made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Duluth Eskimos. He played for the Chicago Cardinals and Duluth Eskimos over the course of his 5 year career.
