Born on August 17, 1919 in Charleston, Missouri, Ernie Nevel (Ernie Wyre Nevel) played for the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 3 year career. Nevel broke into the bigs on September 26, 1950 with the New York Yankees.
