Ernie Fritsch (Ernest A. Fritsch) was born on January 14, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio. After going to high school at Central Catholic (Canton, OH), Fritsch attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Fritsch made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
