Born on October 14, 1974 in Lafayette, Indiana, Erik Sabel (Erik Douglas Sabel) played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 3 year career. Sabel broke into the bigs on July 9, 1999 with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and put up a 4.38 ERA in 51.1 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year.
