Born on March 22, 1952 in Racine, Wisconsin, Eric Rasmussen (Eric Ralph Rasmussen) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 8 year career. Rasmussen broke into the bigs on July 21, 1975 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.78 ERA in 81 innings pitched in 1975, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Eric Rasmussen's best season was 1977, when he posted a 3.48 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 120 batters.
