Eric Chavez (Eric Cesar Chavez) was born on December 7, 1977 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on September 8, 1998 for the Oakland Athletics. In 1999, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 13 home runs and 50 RBI. Chavez played for the Oakland Athletics for his entire 9 year career.

Most people believe that Eric Chavez's best season was 2001, when he slugged 32 home runs, hit for a .288 average and knocked in 114 runs.
