Born on January 28, 1900 in Great Lakes, Illinois, Emil Yde (Emil Ogden Yde) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 5 year career. Yde broke into the bigs on April 21, 1924 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 2.83 ERA in 194 innings pitched in 1924, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Emil Yde's best season was 1924, when he posted a 2.83 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 53 batters.
