Elmer Schaake (Elmer Earl Schaake) was born on February 7, 1911 in Lawrence, Kansas. After going to high school at Lawrence (KS), Schaake attended the University of Kansas. Schaake made his professional debut in the NFL in 1933 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans for his entire 1 year career.
