Elmer Madarik (Elmer Laurence Madarik) was born on July 15, 1922 in Joliet, Illinois. After going to high school at Catholic (Joliet, IL), Madarik attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Madarik made his professional debut in the NFL in 1945 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins over the course of his 4 year career.
