Elmer Jones (Elmer John Jones, Jr.) was born on August 4, 1920 in Buffalo, New York. After going to high school at Riverside (Buffalo, NY), Jones attended Wake Forest University. Jones made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the Buffalo Bisons. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Buffalo Bisons the entire time. Jones also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Detroit Lions the entire time.
Most people believe that 1946 was Elmer Jones's best year.
