Elmer Collett (Charles Elmer Collett) was born on November 7, 1944 in Oakland, California. After going to high school at Tamalpais (Mill Valley, CA), Collett attended San Francisco State University. Collett made his professional debut in the NFL in 1967 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1969 was Elmer Collett's best year.
