Elmer Cleveland (Elmer Ellsworth Cleveland) was born on September 15, 1862 in Washington, D.C.. He made his Major League debut on August 29, 1884 for the Cincinnati Outlaw Reds. In 1888, his rookie year, he hit .225 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI. Cleveland played for the Cincinnati Outlaw Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Gothams and Columbus Colts over the course of his 3 year career.
