[edit] Biography

Born on July 26, 1914 in Atkins, Arkansas, Ellis Kinder (Ellis Raymond Kinder) played for the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 12 year career. Kinder broke into the bigs on April 30, 1946 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 3.32 ERA in 86.2 innings pitched in 1946, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ellis Kinder's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1949, when he posted a 3.36 ERA, won 23 games and struck out 138 batters. However, others believe that it was 1953, when he posted a 1.85 ERA, won 10 games and notched 27 saves.
