Ellis Burton (Ellis Narrington Burton) was born on August 12, 1936 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on September 18, 1958 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1963, his rookie year, he hit .227 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI. Burton played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 5 year career.
