Eli Manning.... Future great or one Manning too late??

Now I know that Eli Manning has only played for a year and a half and most QB's get a pass up until this point in their careers... but this has to be the year for Eli right??

Last season he made one huge play (on the comeback against the Denver Broncos) and I am the first to admit it was Awesome! Considering all the luck they had last year (read the post "Did the Giants really "win" a game this year? for more explanation") and considering that Tiki Barber was AMAZING last year, how good (or how bad) is Eli?

I am very skeptical about Young Eli. With the exception of Michael Vick, Joey Harrington, and Kyle Boller, Eli had the lowest passer rating of any of the starting QB's last year. Vick shouldn't be a QB, you all know about Harrington, and Boller was gibbled for most of last season plus he plays for the Ravens who rarely throw the ball. Also consider that Eli had Tiki Barber, Jeremy Shockey, and Plaxico Burress to throw to.

Eli certainly needs to have a really good this year, or he will get thrown to the sharks. I do not think he has the stones and has survived because of his teammates.

He'll be good, but I think he just doesn't have the 'it' factor to be great. I just can't picture him putting the whole team on his back and leading the G-Men to a super bowl victory.

Eli is overrated and will continue to choke in the playoffs, just like his big brother.

Given some of his dumb INT's hard to believe he suposedly did a 39 on the Wondelic (6 points ahead of Tom Brady)

The magic number for Eli is 60. If he can complete 60% of his passes next year all his numbers will skyrocket. That means improving his accuracy, not throwing off his back foot all the time, and finding his check downs to get short completions rather then throwing the ball away. I'm looking forward to next season, it's up to Eli to silence his critics with his play. Don't forget Drew Brees didn't break out until year 4.

Eli will probably be relegated to third best Manning in the league as long as his brother and the cornerback Ricky Manning Jr are still playing. He will have his ups and downs, but he will never live up to the potential of geing the #1 pick in the draft. In fact, he will probably be lucky if he ends up the 3rd best quarterback in that draft behind Rothlesberger (however the hell you spell it), and Philip RIvers, once he gets a chance to play. Obviously Giants fans will disagree, but there's no reason (if Eli is so good) that they shouldn't have gone further in the playoffs (rather than one and done) with him considering they have a Tiki (who Pean thinks is the best player in the NFL hahahahaha) and a good bunch of pass catchers like the overrated Burress and Shockey. So basically, if they dont do much this year, we know its because Eli is to blame. Expectations should be high when you are drafted first and are surrounded by a good supporting cast. He needs find his jock strap and play some football.

WWWHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! I don't want to play for the Chargers. I would rather throw multiple interceptions for the Giants.

Giants suck. Tiki carries them and it pisses me off as an Eagles fan. They lead the division and will probably win it again as the Eagles stumbeled 2 in a row and are 4-3 while Giants are comfortable 4-2 with 3-0 division record and easy games coming. I hope Giants choke. I am excited bout Tiki retiring cause I hate the Giants more than any other team. 07 will prove how much Eli sucks when Tiki is gone.

Eli Manning is soft and dumb. The only reason he was a first-day draft choice was because of his last name. Both Sheli and his loser dad (who never even made the playoffs) have been riding Peyton's coattails for too long now. Peyton's TV commercials are pretty funny. When they throw in the other losers it becomes contrived and stupid. Because Sheli was a crybaby about the draft, he has cost the Giants dearly. His classless move led to the subsequent 2004 draft-day raping. In addition to getting the better of the 2 QBs, the Chargers also fleeced the Giants for the Merriman (DROY) pick, the Kaeding pick, the pick that was traded for McKardel, and the pick that was traded for starting o-lineman Oben. Jesus- that is 5 starters (2-4 of probowl caliber) for one average starter. The best part is that the Chargers actually wanted Rivers in the draft and probably would have taken him anyways if the Giants hadn't shown their hand that they were willing to bend over to get Sheli. Oh yeah- and they got to see the priceless face he made while holding up his #1 pick in the draft Chargers jersey. Ahahahahahahahahahaahah!!!
