Elbie Fletcher (Elburt Preston Fletcher) was born on March 18, 1916 in Milton, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1934 for the Boston Braves. In 1935, his rookie year, he hit .236 with 1 home run and 9 RBI. Fletcher played for the Boston Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Elbie Fletcher's best season was 1940, when he slugged 16 home runs and knocked in 104 runs.
