Born on November 17, 1923 in San Gabriel, California, Mike Garcia (Edward Miguel Garcia) played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators over the course of his 14 year career. Garcia broke into the bigs on October 3, 1948 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 2.36 ERA in 175.2 innings pitched in 1949, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Garcia's best season was 1952, when he posted a 2.37 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 143 batters.
