Edgar Fields (Edgar Eugene Fields) was born on March 10, 1954 in Austin, Texas. After going to high school at Johnston (Austin, TX), Fields attended Navarro Junior College and Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. Fields made his professional debut in the NFL in 1977 with the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1979 was Edgar Fields's best year.
