Eddie Stanky (Edward Raymond Stanky) was born on September 3, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on April 21, 1943 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .245 with 0 home runs and 47 RBI. Stanky played for the Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves, New York Giants and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Eddie Stanky's best season was 1950, when he hit for a .300 average and knocked in 51 runs.
