Born on September 13, 1897 in Baltimore, Maryland, Eddie Rommel (Edwin Americus Rommel) played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 13 year career. Rommel broke into the bigs on April 19, 1920 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 2.85 ERA in 173.2 innings pitched in 1920, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Eddie Rommel's best season was 1922, when he posted a 3.28 ERA, won 27 games and struck out 54 batters.
