Eddie Mcgill (Edward Hoyt McGill) was born on July 5, 1960 in Asheville, North Carolina. After going to high school at Enka (NC), Mcgill attended Western Carolina University. Mcgill made his professional debut in the NFL in 1982 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1983 was Eddie Mcgill's best year.
