Born on September 7, 1884 in Guy's Mills, Pennsylvania, Eddie Matteson (Henry Edson Matteson) played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Senators over the course of his 2 year career. Matteson broke into the bigs on May 30, 1914 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.10 ERA in 58 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.
