Eddie Garcia

Eddie Garcia (Edgar Ivan Garcia) was born on April 15, 1960 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After going to high school at Woodrow Wilson (Dallas, TX), Garcia attended Southern Methodist University. Garcia was drafted in the 10th round of the 1982 draft. He spent his first year with the Packers on IR waiting for the retirement of Jan Stenerud. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his 3 year career. He played two additional pre-seasons with Miami and Tampa Bay. He still holds the Packer record for the longest field goal with a boot of 55 yards in the August 1983 pre-season game against Cleveland. Eddie is now the Director of Defense Marketing with Oshkosh Corporation. In his spare time he coaches kickers; netting most with athletic scholarships. Eddie and his wife Jill have two adult daughters.
