Eddie Collins (Edward Trowbridge Collins, Jr.) was born on November 23, 1916 in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on July 4, 1939 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1941, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 0 home runs and 12 RBI. Collins played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 3 year career.
