Born on June 19, 1884 in Springwells, Michigan, Eddie Cicotte (Edward Victor Cicotte) played for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 14 year career. Cicotte broke into the bigs on September 3, 1905 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.43 ERA in 207.1 innings pitched in 1908, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Eddie Cicotte's best season was 1917, when he posted a 1.53 ERA, won 28 games and struck out 150 batters.
