Born on May 15, 1919 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, Ed Wright (Henderson Edward Wright) played for the Boston Braves and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 5 year career. Wright broke into the bigs on July 29, 1945 with the Boston Braves, and put up a 2.51 ERA in 111.1 innings pitched in 1945, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ed Wright's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1946, when he posted a 3.52 ERA and won 12 games. However, others believe that it was 1945, when he posted a 2.51 ERA.
