Ed Sternaman (Edward Carl Sternaman) was born on February 9, 1895 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Springfield (IL), Sternaman attended the University of Illinois. Sternaman made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Decatur Staleys. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Chicago Staleys and Decatur Staleys over the course of his 2 year APFA career.Sternaman also played in the NFL for 6 years, playing for the Chicago Bears the entire time.
