Ed Shaw (Edson Walter Shaw) was born on August 7, 1895 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. After going to high school at Tecumseh (NE), Shaw attended the University of Nebraska. Shaw made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Rock Island Independents. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Rock Island Independents the entire time. Shaw also played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Akron Pros and Canton Bulldogs over the course of his 2 year NFL career.
