Ed Nickla (Edward Nickla) was born on August 11, 1933 in New York, New York. After going to high school at Mepham (North Bellmore, NY), Nickla attended the University of Maryland and the University of Tennessee. Nickla made his professional debut in the NFL in 1959 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 1 year career.
