Ed Mitchell (Edward Levine Mitchell) was born on September 5, 1942 in Galveston, Texas. After going to high school at Central (Galveston, TX), Mitchell attended Southern University and the University of Nebraska. Mitchell made his professional debut in the AFL in 1965 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers for his entire 3 year career.
