Ed Merlin (Edward Merlin) was born on December 31, 1916 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Merlin attended Vanderbilt Universtiy. Merlin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 2 year career.
