Ed Marcontell (Edmon Dwight Marcontell) was born on July 10, 1945 in Liberty, Texas. After going to high school at West Hardin County (Saratoga, TX), Marcontell attended Lamar University. Marcontell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1967 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
