Born on February 25, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York, Ed Lynch (Edward Francis Lynch) played for the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 8 year career. Lynch broke into the bigs on August 31, 1980 with the New York Mets, and put up a 2.91 ERA in 80.1 innings pitched in 1981, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Lynch's best season was 1985, when he posted a 3.44 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 65 batters.
