Born on April 7, 1886 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ed Lafitte (Edward Francis Lafitte) played for the Detroit Tigers, Brooklyn Tip-Tops and Buffalo Blues over the course of his 5 year career. Lafitte broke into the bigs on April 16, 1909 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 3.92 ERA in 172.1 innings pitched in 1911, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Lafitte's best season was 1914, when he posted a 2.63 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 137 batters.
