Born on March 21, 1918 in Norwood, Ohio, Ed Klieman (Edward Frederick Klieman) played for the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 8 year career. Klieman broke into the bigs on September 24, 1943 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.38 ERA in 178.1 innings pitched in 1944, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Klieman's best season was 1947, when he posted a 3.03 ERA and notched 17 saves.
