Ed Husmann (Edward Earl Husmann) was born on August 6, 1931 in Schuyler, Nebraska. After going to high school at Ogallala (NE), Husmann attended the University of Nebraska. Husmann made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played in the NFL for 6 years, playing for the Chicago Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys over the course of his 6 year NFL career.Husmann also played in the AFL for 5 years, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1959 was Ed Husmann's best year.
