Ed Hughes (Edward D. Hughes) was born on October 23, 1927 in Buffalo, New York. After going to high school at Kensington (Buffalo, NY), Hughes attended Cameron University, North Carolina State University and the University of Tulsa. Hughes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1954 was Ed Hughes's best year.
