Born on May 7, 1909 in Salt Lake County, Utah, Ed Heusser (Edward Burlton Heusser) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Athletics and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 9 year career. Heusser broke into the bigs on April 25, 1935 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.92 ERA in 123.1 innings pitched in 1935, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Heusser's best season was 1944, when he posted a 2.38 ERA and won 13 games.
