Ed Herrmann (Edward Martin Herrmann) was born on August 27, 1946 in San Diego, California. He made his Major League debut on September 1, 1967 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1969, his rookie year, he hit .231 with 8 home runs and 31 RBI. Herrmann played for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, California Angels and Montreal Expos over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Ed Herrmann's best season was 1970, when he slugged 19 home runs, hit for a .283 average and knocked in 52 runs.
