Ed Grain (Edwin E. Grain) was born on February 25, 1922 in Baltimore, Maryland. After going to high school at Polytechnic (Baltimore, MD), Grain attended the University of Pennsylvania. Grain made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1947 with the New York Yankees. He played for the Baltimore Colts and New York Yankees over the course of his 2 year career.
