Ed Galigher (Edward Albert Galigher) was born on October 15, 1950 in Hayward, California. After going to high school at Hayward (CA), Galigher attended Chabot JC and the University of California - Los Angeles. Galigher made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Ed Galigher's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
