Ed Fitz Gerald (Edward Raymond Fitz Gerald) was born on May 21, 1924 in Santa Ynez, California. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1948 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1948, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 1 home run and 35 RBI. Fitz Gerald played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Senators and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Ed Fitz Gerald's best season was 1954, when he hit for a .289 average.
