Born on October 14, 1948 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, Ed Figueroa (Eduardo (Padilla) Figueroa) played for the California Angels, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 8 year career. Figueroa broke into the bigs on April 9, 1974 with the California Angels, and put up a 3.67 ERA in 105.1 innings pitched in 1974, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ed Figueroa's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1978, when he posted a 2.99 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 92 batters. However, others believe that it was 1975, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 139 batters.
