Ed Comstock (Elwyn Charles Comstock) was born on July 12, 1903 in Liangsburg, Michigan. After going to high school at Ovid (MI), Comstock attended Washington University in St. Louis and West Virginia Wesleyan College. Comstock made his professional debut in the NFL in 1929 with the Buffalo Bisons. He played for the Staten Island Stapletons, Brooklyn Dodgers and Buffalo Bisons over the course of his 3 year career.
