Ed Caskin (Edward James Caskin) was born on December 30, 1851 in Danvers, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on May 1, 1879 for the Troy Trojans. In 1879, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 0 home runs and 21 RBI. Caskin played for the Troy Trojans, New York Gothams and St. Louis Maroons over the course of his 7 year career.
