Ed Bernet (Edward Nelson Bernet) was born on October 24, 1933 in Dallas, Texas. After going to high school at Highland Park (Dallas, TX), Bernet attended Southern Methodist University. Bernet made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the entire time. Bernet also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Dallas Texans the entire time.

Most people believe that 1955 was Ed Bernet's best year.
