Born on February 29, 1892 in Arlington, Texas, Ed Appleton (Edward Samuel Appleton) played for the Brooklyn Superbas for his entire 2 year career. Appleton broke into the bigs on April 16, 1915 with the Brooklyn Superbas, and put up a 3.32 ERA in 138.1 innings pitched in 1915, his rookie year.
