Ed Andrews (George Edward Andrews) was born on April 5, 1859 in Painesville, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on May 1, 1884 for the Philadelphia Quakers. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .221 with 0 home runs and 23 RBI. Andrews played for the Philadelphia Quakers, Philadelphia Phillies, Indianapolis Hoosiers, Brooklyn Wonders and Cincinnati Porkers over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Ed Andrews's best season was 1887, when he stole 57 bases, hit for a .325 average and knocked in 67 runs.
